Driftwood Hanging
This beach inspired wall hanging is crafted with driftwood, sea shells, and hemp rope.
The driftwood is sourced from beaches where it is considered a nuance and discarded by beach goers. It is collected, cleaned, and prepped for decorative use. The driftwood is cleaned and soaked in a water and mild bleach solution to clean off sand, dirt, and any unwanted bacteria. Once dried, it is ready for use and remains in its natural state. Driftwood is best displayed in its true organic beauty.
The sea shells are NOT sourced locally. In order to conserve beach life habitat, the shells used in these pieces are bought for the purpose of craft. They are hand drilled, rinsed, and ready for use!
The larger shells measure approximately 3-3 1/2 inches in length, and the smaller shells measure approximately 1 inch. They measure approximately the same in width.
The wall hanging measures about 14 inches in width and 20 inches in length (from where it is hung to bottom shell).
Natural cracks and marks in the driftwood and sea shells are common, as these materials have aged gracefully with time and the tides.
